Current projects: Vine robot navigation
Ciera joined the IRIS Lab as a first-year PhD student in Fall 2021. Before attending Notre Dame, she earned her B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State in Spring 2021. She is originally from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, which is about an hour from Philadelphia. Ciera works primarily on vine robot navigation, specifically modeling the shapes vine robots can form into without collapsing and how this model can inform the ways in which these robots move through an environment. Beyond work, she enjoys reading and crocheting.
