Bona is a junior studying Mechanical Engineering from Honolulu, Hawai'i. She joined the IRIS Lab as an undergraduate researcher in the spring of 2022. She has been developing a soft body-powered prosthetic hand to help disabled people access prostheses with soft robotics technology. Besides working towards her career goals, Bona often finds meaning in life through hiking, SCUBA & free diving, and participating in sustainability & ocean conservation-related activities.
