Postdoctoral Researchers

If you would like to apply together for funding to complete postdoctoral studies in the IRIS lab, please email Professor McGuinness. Notre Dame also has a Provost's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in Engineering, with an application deadline each fall. Please email Professor McGuinness if you would like to work together on an application for that program.

Graduate Students

We are always on the lookout for excellent new PhD students to start in the fall semester. To be considered for admission into the lab, please apply to the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering PhD program by the deadline in the year before you would like to start, and indicate on your application that you are interested in working with Professor McGuinness. Successful applicants will have a strong academic record, relevant research experience, and shared research interests with the lab. While not required, it also helps if you bring your own funding, so please also apply to external fellowships (e.g., the NSF GRFP for U.S. Citizens) in the same year when you apply to the PhD program.

Undergraduate Students

We have ongoing openings for current Notre Dame undergraduate students to conduct research in the lab, and our weekly lab meetings are open for current Notre Dame students to attend. If you are interested in getting involved in the lab and/or attending a lab meeting, please apply for our research project(s) on STRAND and/or email Professor McGuinness.
